ELECTRONIC DETONATOR NETWORK WIRING GUIDE

STEP 1: PRE-BLAST CHECKS
- Verify all holes drilled to design depth and diameter
- Check bore conditions (water, temperature, debris)
- Inventory all detonators and verify delay assignments

STEP 2: DOWNLINE CONNECTIONS
- Connect detonator leg wires to downline pairs
- Use proper connectors (crimp or mechanical)
- Maintain polarity: Red = Positive, Blue = Negative

STEP 3: SERIES-PARALLEL NETWORK
- Group detonators in series strings (max 25 per string)
- Connect strings in parallel to bus wires
- Verify total resistance within programmer range

STEP 4: PROGRAMMER CONNECTION
- Connect programmer to bus wires at collar
- Run continuity test on each string
- Assign and verify delay times via programmer

STEP 5: FINAL VERIFICATION
- Full network continuity test (all holes)
- Verify delay sequence matches blast plan
- Check for short circuits or open circuits

WIRING COLOR CODES
Red    = Positive leg    -> Programmer +
Blue   = Negative leg    -> Programmer -
Green  = Ground/shield   -> Earth ground
Yellow = Communication   -> Digital bus

SAFETY: Never use blasting galvanometer to test electronic detonators.
Only use manufacturer-approved programmer/testing unit.
